Who is eligible to participate?
All children from 4 years to 12 years, accompanied with an adult parent/guardian are eligible to participate in the 5k/4m training. Additionally, due to strong interest, we have now decided to accept registrations from adult runners (unaccompanied by kids/youth) who wish to participate for the weight-control benefits of running practices. Our program is perfect for the beginner wanting to learn the sport or for the experienced athlete looking to increase fitness for any sport.
But my 4yr old cannot run as fast as older kids?
The jr. gati Practice for 5k/4m is a fun way to encourage our young ones to increase their endurance. This is not a pace training session. During training sessions, while we encourage group participation, we will also group children where necessary by age and ability and our running-leads will practice with groups of similar aged children. Thus you can be assured that your 4yr-old, 6yr-old or 9yr-old will be running in groups with other children of similar ages.
When does jr. gati Win5♥Lose5 Program begin?
The jr. gati Win5♥Lose5 Program for 5k training will begin on Saturday September 10th 2011.
What is the schedule for the jr. gati Win5♥Lose5 Program?
The jr. gati Win5♥Lose5 Program mandatory Training Sessions for 5k/4m will be held on Saturdays from 8:45am to 9:45am. We plan to practice for at least SEVEN Saturday sessions. In addition we may have occasional non-mandatory practice sessions on Sundays between 8:45am to 9:45am. We will notify registered parents with the exact schedule. While the sessions will be held rain or shine -- in view of the younger ages, if some sessions need to be cancelled, we will make best attempt to re-schedule the same.
What are the fees for the jr. gati Win5♥Lose5 Program and how can I register for the same?
You can register for the jr. gati summer youth running program on our Registration Page. The nominal fees include sponsor freebies and membership. There are limited spots and hence early registration is encouraged.
